On Saturday evening, December 14th, 2024, Justsmile celebrated the launch of Issue 5 in Los Angeles with Cartier and cover star Kelvin Harrison Jr. Hosted by Editor-in-Chief Kevin Hunter and friend of the magazine Yashua Simmons at a glowing private residence in Hancock Park, wrapped in red string lights like a Cartier gift box, the evening brought together an eclectic mix of tastemakers—actors Tracee Ellis Ross and LaKeith Stanfield, musicians Giveon and Fousheé, film producer Lena Waithe, and director Melina Matsoukas, among others.

The evening began with a Cartier champagne hour, set to the warm notes of live piano music, before guests were seated for an intimate, candlelit 5-course dinner curated by Emmy Award-winning chef Alisa Reynolds, executive chef at My Two Cents and host of "Searching for Soul Food." To close the night, a trio of singers from the Los Angeles-based cappella octet Exilio delivered a performance of Christmas carols, bringing the evening to a soulful and celebratory end.
