Stride forth with Celine
The Summer 25 collection has it all: equestrian, piano, cycling, library, rowing. Take your pick.
Things we Justsmile about
From California’s Mojave desert to England’s Norfolk coast, Hedi Slimane’s Celine knows no bounds (certainly no geographical ones). The consistently evolved world of the Celine man by creative director, Slimane, is remarkably cohesive and sophisticated despite the distinct evolutions.
For his Summer 2025 collection, the French designer takes us across the English Channel to the austere Palladian-style Holkham Hall, situated in the small village of Norfolk in England’s east coast countryside. The largely unchanged 1764 estate sets a cast of young men strolling the grounds in the British-coded collection. Slimane’s vision feels reminiscent of a 1998 Prince Harry on his first day at Eton College, with pinstriped trousers, slender tailcoats, and tophats. A decidedly intentional undertone set with the show’s opener, the 20-year-old British actor Harry, a former Etonian himself. All recreation for the young isn’t devoted to trumpeting and rowing; catch glimpses of modern-day after-hours looks that wouldn’t be out of place on London’s young, affluent partiers in HBO’s Industry; think neat black leather jackets, a nonchalant silk neck scarf, and red stamped calfskin Chelsea boots. Slimane has thought of everything, as he always does.
