For Justsmile Issue 4, photographer Andrew Jacobs and stylist Edward Bowleg III brought Hedi Slimane’s Celine Delusional Daydream Summer collection to New York City. The Paris-born designer was inspired by his multitude of personal links to the New York Art scene, including his time in New York during the early 2000s when he documented the emerging art scene with artists such as Dan Colen, Terence Koh, and Nate Lowman.
“I'm losing my edge to the art-school Brooklynites in little jackets” - LCD Soundsystem. Hedi Slimane once again delved into Brooklyn-born LCD Soundsystem’s eponymous 2005 debut album: one of the most influential sounds in indie electronic music and club scenes. The New York beat of LCD Sound System is revisited today by a young and vibrant New York music scene to which this collection is dedicated.
